Booking a gutter cleaning in Winter Garden

Most visits go well when you and the gutter company agree on the same list beforehand. Here is a checklist for that conversation, and it applies to us too.

What a good visit should include

Ask any gutter company, including us, to describe the visit in steps. A careful one covers removing debris from every run, not just the easy stretches; checking corners and end caps; running water to confirm flow; and a look for loose hangers or open seams. Photos before and after are a reasonable request to make of anyone you hire.

  • Debris bagged or removed, not dropped into your beds
  • Downspouts tested, or priced separately and clearly
  • A note on anything that needs repair

If a company only mentions blowing off the roof, ask how they handle the troughs themselves.

One story, two stories, and in between

A single-story home with easy ladder access is the simplest case. Thumbtack lists about $125 for 200 linear feet on a standard single-story house, with more added for height. Angi's Orlando figure for difficult two-story or storm-debris jobs reaches roughly $408. Both are third-party market estimates, not our prices. Our own quote depends on the home (stories, roofline, gutter length, access and how clogged the gutters are) and is given after we see the details.

Height, roof pitch, landscaping near the walls and how much debris has built up each push a quote up or down. A split-level or a house with a low porch roof over a tall wall counts as more than one job. Tell us about every roof level when you describe the house.

What to have ready

Before you submit a request, gather the basics: the approximate number of stories, whether there are gutter guards, any spot where water spills over, and whether pets or gates will affect access. If you know a tree touches the roof, say so.

A few photos from the ground help us understand the job, though we may still ask questions when we call. Also decide whether you want downspout flushing included, since some companies quote it apart from the main clean.
